Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh . Shimla is famous for tourist places , where tourist like to visit in summers mostly . It is situated at an elevation of 2276 mtr above sea level . In early time , Shimla was declared as summers capital of British India in the year 1864 .  This city is established by British . It is the main city in the Himachal Pradesh . 

The city gets the name from Shyamala Devi ( Goddess Kali ) . The  Kali Bari Temple is situated quite near to The Ridge , which is dedicated to Shyamala Devi . There are many other famous temples in Shimla city such as Jakhu temple , Sankat-Mochan temple , Tara Devi etc . The Ridge , The Mall road and Christ Church are some famous tourist spots in Shimla city .

Shimla is also known for its adventure sports destination . In these destinations Naldehra and Kufri are  very Popular . Naldehra is famous for its Golf course and Kufri is famous for Ski resort . Shimla has one of the famous natural ice skating rink in Asia .

Shimla is connected with Railway line from Kalka , Haryana . This Railway line is known as Shimla - Kalka Railway line . It is listed as UNESCO World Heritage site in the year 2008 . In this Railway line , There are 800 or more bridges and 103 tunnels . 

Shimla is about 112 km from Chandigarh . Shimla can be easily reach by Bus , Taxi or any other personal Vehicle . Shimla  is the best tourists destination of Himachal Pradesh .The  Best time to visit in Shimla in summers .
