Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh



Bilaspur is a city with  municipal council in Bilaspur district  of Himachal Pradesh , India.  Bilaspur is situated at an elevation of 673 m  above sea level .. It is situated on the foot of the Bandla Hills , along with the left bank of river Sutlej which forms magnificent landscape here owing to creation of Govind Sagar Dam on it. It is the first major city after entering in Himachal Pradesh on the way to Manali. Bilaspur is one of the distt. of Himachal Pradesh . Bilaspur distt. covers an area of 1167 square kilometers . Boundries of Bilaspur are connected with Solan , Mandi , Hamirpur and Una districts. There are many famous tourist destinations in Bilaspur distt. such as , Bandla Paragliding site ,  Naina devi temple , Rishi Markandya temple ,   Bhakra Dam , Lakshmi Narayan temple , Nahar singh temple , Rukmani kund , Luhnu Ground etc. Govind sagar lake is the biggest manmade lake in Bilaspur distt. which attracts tourists to visit there. There is also a domestic cricket stadium where domestic cricket matches are organised every year .





Bilaspur is also known as Kehloor . Bilaspur is also known as seven hills distt. Bahadurpur  is the higgest hill in this distt. Every year Nalwari fair is organised there . Nalwari is state level fair . This fair is a cattle fair in ancient time by now this fair is known for cultural programe and wrestling ( chinj). Bilaspur can be easily reach by bus or personal vehicle . Buses are available from every where to reach Bilaspur . It is about 158 km from Chandigarh ( Punjab ) and about 117 km from Shimla ( Himachal Pradesh ) . It is one of beautifull distt. of Himachal Pradesh where people visit while they traveling to Manali and other distt. of Himachal Pradesh .
