Tani Jubbar Lake , Shimla ( Himachal Pradesh )

Tani Jubbar lake is small and beautifull lake in Shimla distt. of Himachal Pradesh . Tani Jubbar Lake is situated at a distance of 70 KMs from Shimla towards Thanedhar, Kotgarh.  This place is about 12 kms from Narkanda . It is a small artificially water fed oval-shaped, shallow mass of water that is more of a pond than a lake. There are many Blue Pine and Spruce trees which covers arround the lake .

 This lake is the best place for picnic and known as the best picnic spot in Kotgarh ( Shimla) .  There  is a famous temple of  Nag Devta on the bank of lake , where the locals offer prayers to the serpent god. The  fair of Tani Jubbar is celebrated annually at Tani Jubbar Lake which is organise by local people .  Local people and the Deity attend this festival wearing colourful traditional attires. 

Tani jubbar lake is about 70 km from  shimla . It acn be easily reach by bus or personal vehicle or hiring a taxi from Shimla ( Himachal Pradesh). It is a beautiful lake with deep greenish water . The best time to visit Tani jubbar lake in summers . It is  about 11136 feet about sea level . It is high altitude lake . June to September is best time to visit  in hilly areas. In winters , the lake is covered by heavy snow .
